1. About this policy
AppLock – Private App Locker is an Android application designed to help you protect selected applications on your device using local security features such as PIN, pattern, and biometric authentication.
This Privacy Policy explains what information AppLock accesses, stores, uses, and may share through integrated third-party services, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies specifically to the AppLock Android application.
2. Information stored by the app
AppLock may store information locally on your Android device to provide the security and configuration features you choose to use. This may include:
- Authentication configuration and protected credential material.
- The applications you choose to protect and their Android package identifiers.
- Local unlock-session and Smart Lock configuration.
- App preferences and customization settings.
- Onboarding and security-disclosure state.
- Other local configuration required to operate AppLock.
This information is used to provide features such as protected-app management, authentication, session handling, security diagnostics, and application-locking behavior.
3. Authentication and security information
AppLock's core authentication and application-locking functionality is designed to operate locally on your device and does not require an AppLock account or cloud service.
Sensitive authentication material is protected using Android security mechanisms rather than being stored as ordinary plaintext application preferences.
AppLock does not intentionally upload your AppLock PIN or pattern to a Thrinetra Tech server for remote authentication.
Core authentication and application-locking functionality does not depend on advertising, analytics, billing, or an internet connection.
4. AccessibilityService
AppLock uses Android's AccessibilityService API as part of its core application-locking functionality.
The service is used to detect relevant foreground application and window transitions so AppLock can determine when authentication should be presented for an application that you have selected for protection.
AppLock uses the service for application-protection enforcement and does not intentionally use AccessibilityService to collect the textual or visual contents of protected applications for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
AppLock provides an in-app disclosure explaining why AccessibilityService is required and requests affirmative user action before the service is enabled. The AccessibilityService disclosure and consent flow is separate from this Privacy Policy.
5. Protected applications and device information
AppLock needs information about applications available on your device so that you can choose which applications to protect.
This may include application labels and Android package identifiers obtained through Android's launcher/application mechanisms.
This information is used to display the protected-app catalog and to determine which applications AppLock should protect.
AppLock does not require access to the private contents of those applications to provide this functionality.
6. Device security and anti-tampering features
AppLock may use Android security facilities such as Device Administration where supported and enabled by the user as an additional protection mechanism.
These features may be used to help strengthen application protection and security against certain attempts to interfere with the AppLock configuration.
Availability and behavior of device-management and security features may depend on the Android version, device manufacturer, and device configuration.
7. Advertising
AppLock may display banner advertisements using Google Mobile Ads.
When advertising is available, Google and its advertising technology providers may process information required to provide, measure, maintain, and protect advertising services.
Depending on applicable service configuration, region, and consent choices, this may include information such as:
- Advertising or app-related identifiers.
- IP address and network information.
- Device and application information.
- Advertising request and impression information.
- Diagnostics and performance information.
Advertising functionality is separate from AppLock's core application-locking and authentication mechanism.
An advertisement is not used to determine whether a protected application should be unlocked.
8. Advertising consent
AppLock integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising consent management where applicable.
AppLock may request updated consent information and may present a Google consent form when required.
Google Mobile Ads is initialized for advertising only when the application's consent state permits advertising requests.
Your consent choices may affect the advertising available to you, including whether personalized advertising can be provided.
Information processed by Google through advertising and consent services is governed by Google's applicable policies and terms.
9. Google Play Billing
AppLock may offer optional Pro functionality through Google Play Billing.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. AppLock does not receive or store your payment-card number, bank-account credentials, or other payment credentials used by Google Play.
AppLock may receive purchase or entitlement information from Google Play that is necessary to determine whether corresponding Pro functionality is available.
Google handles payment processing and Google Play account information according to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.
10. Information sent to servers
The core AppLock authentication and application-locking functionality does not require an AppLock cloud backend or an AppLock user account.
AppLock may nevertheless communicate with third-party services when you use functionality provided by those services.
These services may include Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, and Google Play Billing.
AppLock does not intentionally upload your AppLock PIN or pattern to a Thrinetra Tech server for authentication.
11. Sharing
Thrinetra Tech does not sell your AppLock PIN, pattern, or core authentication secrets.
Information may be processed by integrated third-party services when necessary to provide their respective functionality, such as advertising, advertising consent management, or Google Play purchase services.
Third-party providers process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable terms.
12. Sponsor links
AppLock may display a clearly identified sponsored section containing a link to Atoolix.
If you select the sponsor link, AppLock opens the external Atoolix website.
Atoolix is an external service and is not operated by AppLock. Information that you provide directly to, or that is collected by, the external website is governed by that service's own privacy policy and terms.
13. Analytics and tracking
AppLock's core application-locking engine does not require a separate AppLock analytics account or analytics service to perform authentication and protection.
However, third-party services integrated into the application, particularly advertising and Google Play services, may independently process technical, advertising, diagnostic, purchase, or related information as necessary to provide their services.
14. Data retention and deletion
AppLock's local configuration remains on your Android device until you change, clear, or remove it, subject to Android's application-storage behavior.
AppLock does not require an AppLock cloud account for its core functionality, so there is no AppLock server-side account database containing your authentication configuration that you need to delete.
You can remove AppLock's locally stored application data using the controls provided by Android or by uninstalling AppLock, subject to Android and device-manufacturer behavior.
Information processed by Google or another third-party service is subject to that provider's applicable retention and deletion policies.
15. Security
AppLock is designed to keep core authentication and protection information on your device and uses Android security facilities for sensitive local credential storage.
AppLock's authentication and lock-engine functionality is designed to remain independent of advertising, network availability, analytics, billing, and remote theme services.
Thrinetra Tech takes reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the information handled by AppLock.
No method of electronic storage, software protection, or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should keep Android and AppLock updated and use the security controls provided by your device.
16. Children's privacy
AppLock is a general-purpose application and is not specifically directed toward children.
AppLock does not knowingly request children to create an AppLock account or provide personal information directly to Thrinetra Tech.
Third-party services integrated into AppLock may have their own age-related requirements and privacy practices.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when AppLock functionality, integrated services, data practices, or applicable legal requirements change.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be updated when a revision is published.
We recommend periodically reviewing this page to remain informed about AppLock's privacy practices.
